The ‘Casa’ classroom is a prepared environment that stimulates the development of motor skills, senses, cognition, language, eye-hand coordination, and independence.A Montessori prepared environment encourages the full development of children in practical Life, sensorial, language, mathematics and geometry, and cultural activities.

What is Montessori Casa Program?

Montessori is a method of education that was developed by Doctor Maria Montessori. It has proven successful for more than 100 years worldwide. It offers a broad view of education as an aid and a preparation for life. At a Montessori school, we believe that all children have an innate desire to learn, and students will learn through self-directed, hands-on activities based on their current developmental stage.

The Key Components of Montessori Programs

• Mixed-aged groupings Older children may teach, mentor, and guide the younger children. Whereas younger children can observe the older children working with more challenging and advanced activities.  Children become both learners and teachers and instil respect for others, becoming the leaders of the class.

• Independence encouraged Activities encourage independence and freedom within appropriate limits. Children are free to choose their activity.

• Inspiring concentration Montessori supports concentration by preparing interesting materials with varying levels of difficulty.

• Prepared environment The Montessori classroom is a carefully prepared learning space where everything has a purpose and a place. It is characterized by beauty, order, and accessibility.

ELAM Montessori Casa Curriculum


Guide students to understand the concrete meaning and the abstract features of
numbers. In a Montessori classroom, there are a variety of materials that can be used for numeration, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing. This variety maintains children’s
interest while giving them many opportunities for the necessary repetition.


From phonics to reading and composition, our programs help students progress in all-around English language skills, which builds a solid foundation for further study. The children are introduced to grammar with enjoyable games which show them the difference between nouns, verbs and adjectives. 


Facilitate students; multi-sensory abilities, such as visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile. By the use of special sensorial materials – things to be touched, shaken, heard, smelled and visually examined – children learn to distinguish and categorize, and to integrate new information into what they already know.


Starts with students; interesting topics; our teachers talk about biology, geography, history, astronautics, etc., to expand students; horizons, stimulate their curiosity and encourage them to create and put what they  learned into practice. Children enjoy the experience of other cultures, their customs, food, music, religious traditions, costumes and language.

Practical Life

Foster students; abilities to take care of themselves, others and their environments. Through practical life, we strengthen students; body coordination and emotional regulations. We encourage students to stick to a healthy lifestyle and good habits.


Our Montessori French class best fits students from 4 to 6 years old. From French
phonics, spelling rules, and basic expressions, our students learn French in multi-modal ways, such as singing and playing. We design a multi-sensory learning experience for our students to foster their interests and whole-brain learning, which builds a solid foundation for our students’
further French study.

The Montessori approach to early childhood education is diversely different to play-based childcare services. It is child-led and self-paced, while guided, assessed and enriched by knowledgeable Montessori trained educators.

There is mix age groups in the classroom. Younger children can learn by observing older children and older children can enhance their skills by teaching the younger ones. A balanced combination of older and younger children is a very special part of the Montessori classroom.

Children learn best through exploring new concepts hands-on. Montessori schools encourage students to touch, feel, and do as they learn new ideas rather than just sitting at desks and listening to a teacher. As they move about the classroom, students can take part in the environment in a self directed, explorative way, allowing them to take control of their learning experience.

o Pouring and scooping — Pouring and scooping activities help children develop fine motor skills at an early age. These tasks also provide valuable sensory experiences, which are vital to childhood development.

o Gluing paper — Gluing activities help students develop fine motor skills and showcase their creativity.

o Dressing frames — These materials help children learn to dress themselves: a vital activity in learning autonomy and self-sufficiency.

o Map of the work — Puzzle maps of the word help students develop spatial awareness and an appreciation for the world’s layout.

o Classification Cards — Classification cards help children name and identify objects in their environment. Typically, each item comes with three classification cards: one with a picture of the object, one card with the object’s name, and one with the image and name together.

French is one of our official languages in Canada. French Immersion schools can be found in many provinces. At eLamb Academy, based on our students’ ages and school types, we have divided our French classes into three categories: French Foundation, Core French and French Immersion. All curricula are based and developed from Ontario French Curriculum. We foster students’ French study interests and enhance students’ overall French skills.
